Mein erster - my first Monoprint

Illustrations-Workshop, Woche 2 mit dem Titel bzw. Motto: "Ah, endlich Ferien"! Zu entwerfen war ein Plakat, das Lust auf Urlaub machen soll. Vorgestellt wurde die Technik "Monoprint" - für mich neu und sicher keine einmalige Sache! Hier meine beiden Entwürfe:

Illustration workshop, week 2, motto: "Ah, holidays at last!" This week we designed a poster showing how attractive it is to plan your next holiday. The first - but definitely not the last time - that I did a monoprint.

Vor 20 Jahren - 20 years ago

..... habe soeben die Nachrichten via Facebook gelesen über das segelnde Klassenzimmer - was ich unglaublich finde, sagenhaft - meine Kinder würde ich ohne zu zögern mitschicken zu diesem einmaligen Erlebnis. Und sie würden es nicht bereuen, auch wenn es mal "hoch her" geht....

Allein die Nachrichten von der Kieler Woche in diesem Jahr fand ich klasse.

Es ist auf das Jahr genau 20 Jahre her, dass Jörg und ich mit der Thor Heyerdahl und einer Reisegruppe aus Lüneburg mit besagtem Segler im Februar 1996 in der Karibik unterwegs waren. Zunächst Flug mit Air France von Hamburg via Paris nach Martinique und da wartete das Oldtimer-Schmuckstück im Hafen. Zwei Wochen Segeln in der Karibik waren ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. In Erinnerung an diese Reise ist diese Farbstiftzeichnung "St. Vincent" entstanden:

I also enjoyed the news of the 'Kieler Week' this year.

It is almost exactly 20 years ago (February 1996) that Jörg and I traveled - toghether with a group from Lüneburg - with Thor Heyerdahl in the Caribbean Sea. At first, flight with Air France from Hamburg via Paris to Martinique where we were welcomed by this unique jewel in the harbor. Two weeks sailing in the Caribbean was an unforgettable experience. Remembering this wonderful journey, I made the color pencil drawing "St. Vincent" (see above).

Illustrationskurs Teil 2 - Illustration Workshop Part 2

Frei nach dem Motto: "über den Tellerrand hinausschauen":

ist dies nun die Aufgabe aus Woche 1, die da lautet: "noch mehr Portraits". Es sollte also ein Portrait eines Mit-Studenten angefertigt werden; was war vorgegeben? Schon mal gar kein Photo. Bei mir waren es 5 Dinge, die Judith mag, wie z. B. Lesen und Zitronensorbet sowie 5 Dinge, die sie überhaupt nicht mag: Schwimmbäder z. B. Herausgekommen ist eine Art Mixed-Media-Arbeit. Ganz frei, ganz ohne Plan, nebenher lief der Fernseher... so kommen manchmal ganz interessante Dinge zum Vorschein.

Now this is the challenge of week 1: "more portraits". A portrait of a fellow student should be made; So what was given? No photo at all. I just had 5 things given that Judith likes, such as reading and lemon sorbet, as well as 5 things she doesn't like at all: swimming pools, for example. The result is some kind of mixed media work. Absolutely free, without a plan and a running TV in the background. Sometimes quite interesting things come to light this way....
